Jasper ISD Names First Bulldogs of the Month for 2026–27

Jasper ISD is proud to recognize the first recipients of the Bulldogs of the Month awards for the 2026–27 school year: Tonia Ellis of Jasper Junior High School, Teacher of the Month, and Emma Barlow of Jasper High School, Employee of the Month.

Teacher of the Month – Tonia Ellis, Jasper Junior High School

Tonia Ellis was recognized as an exceptional educator whose patience, compassion, determination, and commitment to her students represent the very best of Jasper ISD.
Tonia has a remarkable ability to meet students where they are and help them recognize their own potential. She celebrates progress that others may overlook, remains patient through difficult moments, and returns each day determined to help every student succeed.
Her classroom is a place where students are cared for, supported, challenged, and valued. Tonia consistently makes the most of the resources available to her and finds creative ways to provide meaningful experiences and opportunities for her students. Most importantly, she does not allow limitations in resources to become limitations on what she believes her students can accomplish.
Her dedication to her students and her unwavering belief in their ability to succeed make her an outstanding example of what it means to be a Jasper Bulldog.

Employee of the Month – Emma Barlow, Jasper High School

Emma Barlow, a member of the custodial staff at Jasper High School, was recognized for the dedication and care she brings to her work each day.
Emma is attentive, hardworking, and committed to keeping Jasper High School’s classrooms spotless, safe, and welcoming for students and staff. She consistently goes above and beyond her regular responsibilities and does so with a positive, helpful attitude.
While custodial staff members often work behind the scenes and receive little recognition, their contributions are essential to the daily operation of our schools. They help create clean, safe, and inviting environments where students can learn and teachers can teach. Emma’s commitment to doing her job well and her willingness to go the extra mile make her a valued member of the Jasper ISD family.

Celebrating Our Bulldogs

The Bulldogs of the Month award recognizes Jasper ISD teachers and staff members who go above and beyond in their work, support our students and schools, and exemplify the Jasper Bulldog spirit.
As part of the recognition, each Bulldogs of the Month recipient receives a custom embroidered Bulldog jacket and polo shirt, donated by Jeansonne Financial. In addition, the Teacher of the Month receives a $500 gift card, generously donated by Lakes Country Chevrolet.
Jasper ISD congratulates Tonia and Emma on this well-deserved recognition and thanks them for the important role they play in making our schools and our district a better place for students every day.
