After growing up in Jasper, I returned here after graduating From Stephen F. Austin State University in December of 2004. My first job in Jasper ISD was teaching Algebra I as a long-term substitute in the spring of 2005 and the following year I became a full-time teacher at Jasper High School. For 12 years, my second home was the upstairs front hall of JHS. I taught almost every science class that was offered but spent most of my career teaching Chemistry. Helping students succeed in a difficult subject became my greatest professional goal.
After those first twelve years, I transitioned into administration. I began working as an Assistant Principal at Jasper Junior High School at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. This new position allowed me to impact student learning at the campus level instead of the classroom. My goal is to facilitate learning in the classroom through interactions with staff and students. Education is one of the most important gifts that we can give our children and my goal is to make sure Jasper students are given the best opportunity to receive that gift.
